Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers.

+++CURRENT STATUS OF RESEARCH STATION: UNKNOWN+++

The Adeptus Mechanicus research station on Arcadia was established to investigate the Tyranid Bioforms infesting the outer rim of the system. When the cataclysm came and the system was split off, many of the Magos' dedicated themselves to protecting their srhines. Many of their more high ranking brethern died in the destruction of the spaceport and Primaris Hive.

But one carved out a new niche for himself. Genetor and Xenobiologist Hieronymus Veer fled into the encroaching ash drifts with his samples of bioforms. Like the creatures whose study had become his life's work, he adapted; he evolved.

Now, his creations roam the Drift, hunting for parts to create yet more; and all of them can be heard to mutter Veer's Mantra: Parts is Parts.

*******

I can't even recall where the idea for this one came from. I think it actually emerged from playing around with some Tyranid bits and just looking at the different ways they could fasten together; the concept just evolved from there, which is at least fitting.

I scavenged some broken guitar strings from Music at work and they provided the tentacles and tubing. The whole piece is made out of bits that were lying around with copious amounts of greenstuff and vallejo plastic putty.

Painting was quite simple; again, washes and filters based on the colour scheme of my long lost Tyranid army from the days when I played 40K.

This is probably the single one of the Inq28 figures I'm happiest with, with the combat servitor being a close second.

Here's the full cast of characters of the Drift as it stands at the moment.

  1. Tremendous and probably your best yet, although seeing them altogether they do make it hard to judge.
